Chocolate Frosting

I discovered this recipe as an advertisement for Baker's Chocolate my mother had torn out of a magazine years ago.
Ingredients
- 5 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 stick butter
- 1 egg
- 3 cups icing sugar
- 1/3 cup hot water
Method
- Melt the chocolate and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Cream the butter with an electric mixer, then add the egg, sugar, and chocolate. Once it is well blended, add the water.
- Chill the frosting until it is spreading consistency.
Cook's Notes
This frosting tends to be a little loose when warmed, so make sure that when you ice a cake with it, you let the cake cool completely. Otherwise the frosting will be slipping off the cake, and it's a mess.
