Mocha Frosting

Adapted from Chocolate Frosting

I realized one day that if I was using hot water, I could just as easily be using coffee to make a mocha frosting.


  • 5 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups icing sugar
  • 1/3 cup coffee


  1. Melt the chocolate and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Cream the butter with an electric mixer, then add the egg, sugar, and chocolate. Once it is well blended, add the coffee.
  3. Chill the frosting until it is spreading consistency.
