Bacon Broccoli Pasta

Submitted by akemi

My first purely invented concoction. Turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Sorry about the lack of exact measurements, just try to think of what's appropriate for 2 people.

  • 1-2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 125 g/4.4 oz bacon, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 onion
  • broccoli
  • chicken broth
  • 1 or 2 tsp butter
  • spaghetti for 2

  1. Cook spaghetti according to instructions on pack.
  2. Heat oil in pot or a pan that you can cover. Chop garlic, add to pan, make sure pan isn't too hot or else the garlic will burn (medium or less). Add bacon. Remove bacon when done.
  3. Add onions, broccoli, and chicken broth (enough broth to deglaze/steam the broccoli). Cover pan so that broccoli can steam. Steam for a few minutes, until broccoli becomes an intense green.
  4. Add bacon back to pan, along with cooked pasta. Add butter. Add extra broth if you want more "sauce."
