Mocha Nut Balls

We always made these at Christmas. They aren't very sweet, so I didn't like them until I was in college.
Ingredients
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp instant coffee
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 3/4 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/4 cup bourbon (optional)
- confectioners sugar to coat
Method
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Cream butter, sugar, bourbon, and vanilla until light. Add coffee, cocoa powder, flour, and salt and mix well. Add nuts, Shape into 1 inch balls.
- Bake approx 15 minutes. Cool and roll in confectioners sugar.
- Makes 72 cookies.

The bourbon is optional, but why WOULDN'T you use it?
