Fried Rice

Submitted by akemi

This is a very adaptable recipe, you can pretty much throw in any meat or veggies you have in the fridge. Great way to eat leftovers.

  • Olive oil
  • Garlic, chopped
  • Ginger, chopped
  • Cooked rice
  • Soy sauce
  • 1 egg
  • Veggies (mushrooms, green/red peppers, asparagus, zucchini, etc)
  • Cooked meat (chicken, shrimp, steak, etc)
  • Green onion, chopped

  1. Heat olive oil in a wok on medium and add ginger and garlic. Cook for about a minute, and be careful not to burn the garlic.
  2. Add veggies and cook until tender.
  3. Add rice. Pour on soy sauce. Stir well.
  4. Make a whole in the center of the rice. Crack the egg into the whole. Crack the yolk and let it cook for a little while, until the bottom is set. Stir the yolk into the white until all the egg is cooked.
  5. Stir in pieces of meat and top with green onion. Add salt and pepper to taste.
